What to bring?
Scouts will wear their Class A uniforms to and from the camp.  Class B throughout the weekend.  Sleeping bags, pads, pillows, chairs, day packs with 10 essentials, mess kits, and water.  Scouts will use the troop tents found in Hugo Hall.  The Grubmasters will be selected by our SPL to be the cooks for the weekend.

Scouts Earn Their Religious Emblems

AdAltareDeiTroop 811 congratulates Scouts Evan and William for earning their Ad Altare Dei Emblem.  The Ad Altare Dei is one of two religious awards available for scouts of the Catholic faith.  Based on the seven sacraments, it helps scouts develop a fully Christian way of life in a faith community.  The emblem, initiated in 1945 and was the first religious program of any kind for Boy Scouts, can 6 to 10 months to earn.  Great job boys!

All Scouts in troop 811 are encouraged to pursue the religious emblem for the faith of their choice.  Please contact an Assistant Scoutmaster for more information.

2015 Scout Sunday

Unknown

The Scout Sunday tradition was started to make people in houses of worship aware of Scouting, and to allow Scouts to live out their “Duty to God” pledged each week.

The Scout Law says that a “Scout is Reverent” and the Scouts of all ages promise to do their “Duty to God”. These values strengthen youth character in their family, community and faith.

This year, St. Angela Merici Parish, our chartered organization, will celebrate Scout Sunday on Sunday, February 15, 2015 during the 11:15 am mass.   We encourage all Scouts and Scout Leaders to attend as a show of support for our Troop.

Please meet at 10:40 am in the plaza at St. Angela Parish in full Class A uniform.  Sign up on the clipboard below.

On Sunday, March 1, 2015, our Troop will be having our Annual Pancake Breakfast.  This is an awesome opportunity for you to raise money for the upcoming Summer Camp to Camp Chawanakee in July.  The cost of the camp is about $400 so if you sell 40 family tickets, you will have paid your way to camp and helped your parents along the way.

The tickets will be distributed on Tuesday, January 13, 2015 at the Troop Meeting.  This is an important meeting because all the details will be outlined for you.  A copy of the flyer is available below.  Print out as many as you want and distribute them out to your family, friends, and neighbors.

Snow Sport Day

Unknown

The previously scheduled Snow Sport Merit Badge Weekend at FLSR has been CANCELLED.  We were not able to book the weekend soon enough and all of the lodges were filled.

However, we have decided to take advantage of the long weekend by having a Snow Sport Day at Snow Valley on Saturday, January 17, 2015 instead.  We will leave from Hugo Hall at 6 am and return around 7 pm.

Scouts will be able to ski and snowboard during during the day.  They can either bring their own equipment or rent them at the ski lodge once we arrive there.  Any scout who would like to go but does not want to participate in the snow sports are welcome to attend.  Mr. Lising will be taking them to an area where they can build snow forts and possibly an igloo.

We encourage everyone to bring their daypacks with water, snacks, and money.  Bag lunches are strongly encourage in case we are too far away from the lodge to eat.  Dress warmly and bring gloves.

The cost of the ski/snowboard rentals is around $30 and helmet is $6.  Lift tickets are $30 for those under 12 y.o.,  $59 for those 12-21 y.o, and $69 for those over 21.  The cost of transportation is $12.
